7 Things to Know Before Signing up for Gym Membership

When you hear the words, exercise, diet, and health, what comes to mind? The word is gym, and although there are plenty of ways to get in shape without the gym, it can play a key factor in losing weight. Usually when you go to find a gym you don’t take a checklist with you and ask a billion questions to the sales rep. Well here are seven important things to know before becoming a member at a tashinahill.com gym.

1. Check Out Membership Fees

The last thing you want is a high bill that you cannot afford. You want to be able to live comfortably without overdoing it. After all a gym is a gym. If you are not able to afford the cost at that particular gym, check out another one. Make sure to ask what each fee entails. It would be horrible if you were paying for things you don’t intend to use. So make sure to ask questions before making that particular gym your choice.

2. Programs with Medical Conditions

Lots of people have diabetes, weight loss issues, asthma and many other issues, you want to make sure that the gym is willing to accommodate your needs. If the gym does not have those programs then I suggest you search for a gym that does. There should be programs that help you eat right and get you on the right track to losing weight.

3. Take a Look at the Equipment

Make sure that there are enough machines at the facility. You are there to workout and if you have to wait hours upon hours to do that, then there is no point in having a gym membership. Also, check if the equipment is clean and in good condition. Check to make sure that the equipment works. The gym needs to keep up with their equipment every single day to make sure that the equipment functions properly. If not, that shows their lack of care, which is not a good sign.

4. Location is Important

Before signing on to a gym make sure that it is convenient and in close proximity to your residence or job. The last thing you want is to waste gas at $4.00 a gallon (yikes!)

5. Times of Operation

This is a major factor to consider when joining a gym. Check to see whether the gym is 24 hours, and whether it is open on the weekends. You want to make sure that the gym fits your needs and that you have plenty of time to work out. The last thing you want is to be racing to the gym before it closes and just getting a 15-minute workout.

6. Do I get Everything in Writing?

Make sure that everything the sales person said is in the contract or that you have it written down. The name of the sales person you dealt with is very important. If there is ever a discrepancy you want to make sure that you have all of your documents with you and know the name of the person you spoke with.

7. Cleanliness

You need to make sure that the gym is clean and tidy. Check the floors to make sure that they are spotless. When going to the use the restroom, check to make sure that the showers and toilets are clean. Make sure that there is enough toilet paper and paper towels as well.
